Call of Duty: WWII and Destiny 2 Lead the Way for Game Sales
Well, we here at XBA think that Activisoin has made a boatload of money with two of their latest games, COD: WWII and Destiny 2. We know that a few of us staffers continue to play both games quite a bit, and with the latest news of how well these two titles have sold, its no surprise that there are indeed a lot of others playing.
Coming in at the No. 1 selling console game of 2017, Call of Duty: WWII has already surpassed $1 billion in sell-through worldwide since its launch last month. This extends Call of Duty’s run as the No. 1 top selling console video game franchise in North America for nine consecutive years, based on revenue.
And coming in at No. 2 for console games sales, Bungies Destiny 2 secured its status the silver medal winner as the second highest selling console video game in North America for the year, based on revenue. Based on units, Destiny 2 has outsold Destiny, and it has been hailed as the “biggest new video game IP launch in history” by some folks out there.
So, it looks like its a great year for Activision and its developers of some of the biggest game franchises out there.
